Habitare Talents + Habitare Protos are twin events annually curated and produced by Elina Aalto and Saara Renvall together with Habitare for the Habitare design fair.

Habitare Protos, first seen in 2009 shows 10-12 new product ideas by designers working in Finland. Typically it presents insightful and clever prototypes from designers who are at the start of their careers. In it’s 13 years the event has shown work from over 150 designers and has established itself as an important arena for young Finnish design. Several designs first shown at Habitare Protos have found manufacturers in Finland and the Nordics.

Habitare Talents, started in 2015 presents four designers that are at the start of their careers but who already have a an own designer identity and a strong body of original work. The selected designers are given an own stand at the fair to show their work more widely.

Elina and Saara together with Krista Kosonen were awarded with the Young designer of the year award in 2010 for their work promoting 21st century Finnish design and they curated the main exhibition for the Helsinki World Design Capital (2012) Everyday Discoveries presented design from over 24 countries world wide.
